Edmonton Mural Artist

In 2023 the Sherwood Park Curling Club celebrated 20 years as a club and 60 years of curling in Sherwood Park. Through the work of a few dedicated and hard working SPCC members, I was chosen to paint a mural on the northeast wall to capture and represents the culture, community and values of the SPCC.

The mural, titled “Curling In The County,” creatively depicts a variety of curling activities, equipment, teams, and terminology, celebrating the sport’s rich heritage. Complementing the curling theme, the artwork showcases the diverse wildlife and natural beauty of Strathcona County, featuring local animals, birds, and the unique flora and fauna found throughout the region.

Additionally, the mural incorporates visual elements inspired by Canadian symbols, drawing on the vibrant colors and landscape depicted in the Alberta coat of arms. In a gesture of Reconciliation with our local Indigenous community, the mural also features various significant symbols that honor their culture.

This colorful, playful, and stylized mural captures the essence of curling from the 1960s to today, highlighting athletes of all abilities and contributing to the vibrant arts scene in Edmonton.
